A Message from Gina Terinoni, the owner of the Dova Center

A letter from Gina:

Welcome to the Dova Center for Health & Healing! Creating the Dova Center has been a goal of mine for well over a decade. My first studies began with herbal medicine in the mid-90s as I struggled with a challenged immune system. Walking along my path throughout sickness earlier in my 20s that I just couldn’t shake, I explored traditional Chinese medicine after I was already practicing yoga on a regular basis.  I was amazed that no one in my life had experienced this medicine before.  As I pushed through another Master’s Degree and was prepping to go on for my PhD, I decided to explore what a Master’s in traditional Chinese medicine would look like. After sitting in Acupuncture and theory classes for three days, I knew that this was my path and that I needed this medicine to be a major part of my life. And, I was eager to spread the word and share this medicine with as many people as I could reach.  Personally, it has helped me heal from asthma, migraines, two car accidents, and, now, in the last few years, I can say it has saved and stabilized my eyesight after I was diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye disorder.  Also, it was a key therapy for me during my pregnancy with my son and my postpartum recovery this past year.

Along my studies, I have also trained in massage therapy, completed a yoga teacher training and continue to deepen my learning of yoga, train in meditation studies, and I continue to further my studies in traditional Chinese medicine focusing on: chronic pain, cancer support, Fertility, Pre Natal and Post Partum care, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, and Vision Health. I have trained extensively in General Health as well and commonly work with: Allergies, Asthma, Digestive Concerns, Stress and Anxiety, Insomnia, Depression, Peri-menopause and Menopause, among other transitions and challenges in life.

The vision of the Dova Center is to create a place for people to come to support their health as well as to offer services for those who are in the process of healing.  Maintaining and encouraging healthy habits after we heal from a life experience, illness, or, specific trauma is just as important as the therapy that got us through that tough time. I encourage you to visit the Dova Center and experience the collaborative efforts of our experienced healthcare practitioners, clinicians, acupunturists, and massage therapists.

I look forward to working with you and seeing you at our various classes, health events, and community parties!

Be well,

Gina Terinoni
