Acupuncture at the Dova

In Louisville, CO, acupuncture is a specialty of the Dova Center. Acupuncture is an ancient form of healing and is the practice of inserting needles along certain meridians to unblock or direct Qi.

Your acupuncturist only uses sterile, one-time use, disposable needles. The needles are about as thin as a human hair and are generally inserted no deeper than ¼ – ½” into the skin. On average, your acupuncturist uses between four and 16 needles depending on the patient’s condition, age, and constitution. (Cosmetic acupuncture requires more needles.) Initially, at the insertion of the needle, you may feel a dull, achy feeling or heat, depending on your level of sensitivity. The needles are then left in for about 10 to 45 minutes.
