Louisville, CO Acupuncturist and Boulder, CO Acupuncturist – Clinical Director and Owner of the Dova Center for Health and Healing

“Warm welcome upon arrival. Gina knew exactly what I needed. Warm and cozy room with a little extra time. At first, acupuncture was for a specific neck issue. After over a year of treatment, I can function again and now know the regular treatments help with stress, allergies, other injuries and overall well-being. I LOVE THE DOVA!”

Cyndy H, Louisville, CO

Gina Rosella Terinoni, DAOM Candidate, LAc, MTCM, MA, CYT is a Master Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in Louisville, Colorado and Boulder acupuncturist with over 20 years of extensive training in traditional Chinese medicine. This training includes acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, injection therapy, and meditation. She specializes in treating patients with chronic pain, fertility and infertility issues, pregnancy and postpartum care, hormone balancing, vision health, Cancer support, and anti-aging care. She also offers Pediatric natural medicine and works with children from birth through highschool.

Terinoni is currently studying to receive her Doctorate in Chinese medicine, anticipating her DACM early 2020. Her emphasis is clinical research for chronic pain and women’s healthcare related to fertility. She received her Master’s of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches Institute, Santa Cruz, CA in 2001. She also completed Clean Needle Technique training as part of her education. Terinoni is a licensed Louisville Acupuncturist and Herbalist and Boulder Acupuncturist in California and Colorado.  Following her training in school, her post-graduate studies are focused on:  chronic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis,  obstetrics, gynecology, infertility, pregnancy and postpartum, pediatrics, menopause, cosmetic acupuncture, vision health, pain treatment, injuries, orthopedic and sports medicine.

Gina is a native Philadelphian who grew up with mostly nurses and police officers in her family and among her inner-city friends. She was always interested in how people live their lives in different societies and cultures. Having a strong interest in culture and medicine paradigms, she studied Sociology and Anthropology in undergraduate school. She has an MA in Anthropology and this is where she learned about Chinese medicine and acupuncture from a colleague whose thesis she edited as he wrote on the Hmong population in Missoula, Montana. She had poor health while in the master’s program which led her to “try” acupuncture and herbs because western medicine was not her longterm solution and only helped when she was in crisis. Gina wanted to thrive and not just survive as a young adult. She suffered from some serious health challenges as a child and early adult which led her to acupuncture and herbal medicine therapy. She had very bad asthma, allergies, and migraines that would land her in the ER a couple of times each year. That stopped her first year of acupuncture and Chinese medicine school as she learned to take care of herself and she received many acupuncture treatments and herbal medicine. Unfortunately, she had a very bad car accident, but, did see it as a blessing because of the reality of working through pain, walking limitations for a long time (all better now), and the stress from years of therapy to fix her injuries. In 2011, she was diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye condition when she was at the healthiest point in her life. She had multiple eye surgeries and her prognosis was blindness. So far, all is well and Gina is incredibly grateful that she had the knowledge and assistance of many Chinese medicine and acupuncturist friends. These experiences give strength to Gina’s passion to help others who are going through trying times and pain or disappointment.

Gina’s mission is to treat her patients with the utmost respect and care and to teach them how to walk with grace on their healing journeys. She believes that everyone has the power to heal their minds and bodies with the help of reconnecting with their inner selves whether through meditation or medical treatments. She believes there is a place for western and eastern medicines to complement each other and networks and co-treats with local doctors, fertility specialists, and surgeons to be able to offer the best care and options for her patients.

Terinoni says “Working with patients to achieve their optimal health potential is my passion. Having experienced a couple of medical emergencies that required a lot of Western Medical attention, I appreciate the Western Model and enjoy the challenge of blending traditional Chinese medicine with Western treatments. If desired by my patients, I also am confident that I can offer specific treatments that may reduce or eliminate the need for Western treatment. I am here to support my patients on their health and healing journey no matter what that may mean to them as individuals. Every patient gets my undivided attention and care while creating and administering their treatment plan.” She says her patients often talk about being overwhelmed, tired, anxious, rundown, and sleep poorly. She believes each patient can take small steps to eliminate these negative emotions and physical sensations and enjoys helping along the way.

Terinoni has managed and developed several wellness programs throughout California and Colorado, including Jade Turtle Health acupuncture center in Louisville, and holds two Masters degrees; one in traditional Chinese medicine from Five Branches Institute, California, and the other in anthropology from the University of Montana. She has extensive post graduate training in Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain/Chronic Fatigue, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, OB/GYN health, Fertility (working towards ABORM certification), Cosmetic and Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Pediatric Care, and Vision Health.

Gina most often treats patients for:
